"About Our Pastor"
Bishop Paul C. Johnson is the son of the late Deacon Richard and Sister. Helen B. Johnson, of Columbia, South Carolina. Bishop Johnson grew up in the Apostolic church under the tutelage of men of God at the Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc., in Columbia, South Carolina. Bishop Johnson graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Business Administration, and has pursued a successful career in banking. First as a State  Bank Examiner, then as a Bank Internal Auditor. Bishop Johnson retired in 2009 as the Corporate Security Officer.
Bishop Paul C. Johnson received his call to preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in 1976. Like Jonas, He tried to decline the calling of God, but finally surrendered his will to the will of the Lord.
Bishop Paul C. Johnson joined the mission work in Hinesville as a Minister in 1985, and has since been faithful to the work of the Lord since 1985.
Bishop Paul C. Johnson officially was appointed as Elder and the Pastor of the Hinesville Progressive Church on July 6, 1992 by Presiding Bishop Edward Smith.
Bishop Paul C. Johnson was consecrated by Presiding Bishop Edward Smith into the office of Bishop on July 2, 2007 and became the 10th member of the Board of Bishops of the Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc. Bishop Johnson was subsequently appointed as District Bishop to District Five, which included Atlanta, Georgia; Gainesville, Florida; Hinesville, Georgia; Jacksonville, Florida; Saint Petersburg, Florida; and Tallahassee, Florida.
Bishop Johnson has  served a one year term as Interim Assistant Presiding Bishop of the Progressive Church, Inc. from July 2008 to June 2009 and now currently serves as the Secretary for the Board of Bishops. Bishop Paul C. Johnson preaches and teaches the word without compromise. He is a visionary leader that is totally committed to winning souls and working for the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Bishop Johnson’s ministry takes him to the hospitals, prisons, jails, schools, local businesses, and wherever the Lord leads him for the cause of humanity.
Bishop Paul C. Johnson serves his community through civic involvement in the Hinesville and Savannah Area.
Bishop Johnson is currently a member of the  Board of Commissioners for the city of  the Hinesville Housing Authority, member of the Board of Directors for the Hinesville Development Authority and a member of the Board of Directors for the Liberty County Public Facility Authority.
Bishop Paul C. Johnson is a caring, loving, giving, compassionate, visionary Pastor  who is truly on a Mission for the Lord. His number one priority is being about his Father's business and serving the people of God.
